Comprehensive Vision and Ocular Health Examinations
When you visit our office, you will leave knowing that you have had a complete and thorough visual health examination which will include:
· A glaucoma test to measure your eye pressure (not the air-puff) · A thorough cataract inspection performed · Optomap: Takes a 200 degree digital image of the retina and, in some cases, can eliminate the need for pupillary dilation. · Pupillary dilation is performed for a complete retinal evaluation · Your retina is fully inspected for tumors, breaks, detachments, disease, degenerations and other medical disorders · Your cornea is evaluated through a bio-microscope and is measured by an automated, computerized keratometer · Your peripheral vision is analyzed using a state-of-the-art computer which is highly accurate in spotting early signs of glaucoma, neurological disorders and other eye diseases · Your prescription or determination of your refractive error is measured three different ways to ensure total accuracy. In addition to the traditional phoropter examination, your prescription will be determined by retinoscopy and a computerized auto-refractor. The auto-refractor is a high tech computer that determines your prescription without "Which is better? One or two?" · Your distance, middle (computer) and near (reading) vision is evaluated through a series of tests. Your eye muscle balance and accommodation are carefully measured. These are often the cause of headaches, eyestrain, poor reading skills, and poor depth perception. · Your visual acuity is measured · Your depth perception and color vision are evaluated · And you will receive an extensive consultation with the doctor on all the results of your tests. When non-ophthalmic condition or surgical need is diagnosed, you will be referred to the appropriate specialist, such as ophthalmologist, retinologist, neurologist, internist, dermatologist, etc.
